"Master Bourbon Taster"

The Bachelor of Science Degree Program requires that the student must complete a total of THIRTY SIX (36) Tasting Courses and quizzes including having already earned their Associate Degree. Each Tasting Course has a Quiz assigned to it by subject. A record of taking and passing that quiz with a Score of 75% or 80% (depending on the level) is required. Each Quiz has 25 Multiple Choice questions with a choice of 5 answers to pick from, there is a 50 minute time limit on each quiz assigned.

In addition, the student must now declare a MAJOR (Note; a Major is 9 courses in one concentrated geographic area) from the Bourbon Capital Region, the Bluegrass Region, the Whiskey Row Region, the Tennessee Whiskey Region, the Mid-Atlantic Rye Whiskey Region, the Canadian Whisky Region, the World Whisky Major, the Craft Whiskey Major, or the Whiskey History Major (each has its own requirements).

The total course work must include 8 of the 18 Major Distillery courses offered (click on Link to left to see list to choose from). This DOES include the 4 Distillery Courses taken at the Associates Degree Level. A Major Distillery is one that is defined as producing 1.8 million proof gallons of Whiskey per year.

Upon Graduation, you will receive your 8-1/2”x 11” parchment Degree, earn the title of “Master Bourbon Taster” and the Commensurate Officer Rank of 1st Lieutenant in the “Bourbon Brigade.”

At this level, you will also earn a Write-up about you on the Whiskey University website.

"Master Whiskey Taster"

The Bachelors of Arts Degree Program requires that the student must complete a total of FORTY EIGHT (48) Tasting Courses and quizzes including having already earned their Bachelor’s in Science Degree. Each Tasting Course has a Quiz assigned to it by subject. A record of taking and passing that quiz with a Score of 75% or 80% (depending on the level) is required. Each Quiz has 25 Multiple Choice questions with a choice of 5 answers to pick from, there is a 50 minute time limit on each quiz assigned.

In addition, the student must now declare a DOUBLE MAJOR. A Double Major is 9 specific courses in a second major from the Mid-Atlantic Rye Whiskey Region, the World Whisky Major, the Craft Whiskey Major or the Canadian Whisky Region (each has its own requirements).

The Graduate must also have taught or Co-Hosted one course (In-person or on Zoom).

The total course work must also include a total of 11 of the18 Major Distillery courses offered (click on Link to left to see list to choose from). This DOES include the 8 Major Distillery courses taken at the Bachelors of Science Degree level. 

Also, the student must complete 2 of 3 Advanced Courses (#400 Level courses) in ONE of “The Big Three” (or Bluegrass Region) and Teach or Co-Host one Course.

Upon Graduation, you will receive your Parchment Bachelor of Arts Degree,the title of “Master Whiskey Taster” and the Commensurate Officer Rank of Captain in the “Bourbon Brigade."

The Graduate will also earn a 1-1/4” 3D “Antique” STERLING SILVER Whiskey University Label Pin. At this level, you also earn the privilege as an instructor to order Whiskey University Business Cards.
