Whiskey University Recruiting Coordinator

Gabe DeGabriele joined Whiskey University in September, 2022. In 2016 Whiskey University began offering Certificates, Diplomas, and Degrees. He earned his Bourbon Diploma after successfully completing ten classes on October 25th, 2022.

Gabe holds a Master of Arts in Education Computer Technology degree from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Northern Michigan University. Originally from Negaunee, MI, he now resides in Grand Junction, Colorado with his wife Becky.

DeGabriele then began aggressively earning degrees from Whiskey University starting with his Associate Degree in Intermediate Bourbon Studies and title of “Certified Bourbon Taster,” after finishing 18 classes on December 11th, 2022. He followed that up on February 21st, 2023, completing his Bachelor of Science Degree, Majoring in the Bluegrass Region after 27 classes. Gabe continued by his Bachelor of Arts Degree with 35 classes on April 18th, 2023. Along the way he earned the rank of Captain in the Bourbon Brigade and the title of “Master Whiskey Taster” from Whiskey University and “Certified Bourbon Steward” from the Stave & Thief Society. Gabe became an instructor and taught his first course for the school on April 23rd, 2023.

Growing up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in “Brandy Country” Gabe’s father, who was ever the rebel, introduced him to whiskey cocktails while his mother stuck to brandy. It was not until later in life on a trip to Frankfort, Kentucky that he developed an appreciation for the tradition and labor of love that goes into each bottle. Gabe’s appreciation has grown exponentially through his time with Whiskey University. He is now able to combine two of my passions, teaching and whiskey as an Instructor and Recruiting Coordinator for Whiskey University.

Lt. Colonel DeGabriele earned his Master of Science Degree in short order after 44 classes on June 6th, 2023 with a Double Major in both World Whiskies and the Bluegrass Region. Gabe earned the university’s top degree when he was awarded his Master of Arts Degree at 50 classes on July 24th, 2023. He currently holds the rank of Lt. Colonel in the Bourbon Brigade and titles of “Chartered Master Bourbon Taster” and “Chartered Master Whiskey Taster.” Gabe continues to be contribute to the school post graduation as he has now taught for different courses, three in the Bluegrass Region and one Craft Distillery course called Colorado Whiskeys.
