Lt. Col. Adam Schrote
Lt. Col. Adam Schrote started his journey with Whiskey University July 9, 2024. He was born September of 1986 in Michigan. He graduated from Adrian College in 2009 with a BA in Biology. He worked in the zoo field as a zoo keeper in Tyler, TX and Asheboro, NC with Elephants and hoofstock. He is now working in facility maintenance.
He got into whiskey when a new distillery opened up in Greensboro, NC. They walked him through the process of whiskey making and then did a tasting and from there the rest is history. He got into Whiskey University when he got free classes after he completed 14 stops on the Tennessee Whiskey Trail. He completed the Tennessee Whiskey Trail in September of 2025. He got his Associate’s Degree November 2024, Bachelor’s of Science in Tennessee Whiskey, March 2025, Bachelor’s of Arts in Canadian Whisky, July 2025, Master’s of Science Degree in World Whisky, October 2025 and Master’s of Arts Degree in Craft Whiskey, December 2025. From there he enjoyed learning as much as he could about whiskey so he enrolled in Edinburgh Whisky Academy and received his certificates in Wake up your Whiskey Nose, Focus on Flavor, Scotch Whisky, Irish Whiskey, American Single Malt Whiskey and Gin. Also, received the ASM Certificate from Courage and Conviction American Single Malt Whiskey Course through Virginia Distillery. He also took all the courses he could at The Macallan Academy. He co-hosted his first class July 30, 2025, teaching Bluegrass Region.
The next steps in his whiskey journey are to complete the required courses to get the rank of Commodore in the Bourbon Brigade. He would also like to work on completing the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and Stateline Whiskey Tour KY/TN
