Lt. Col. Kevin Comeau

Kevin Comeau was born in Fall River, MA in November of 1977. He obtained a degree in the Culinary Arts in 1997. He met his wife and best friend Nicole while playing indoor and beach volleyball in Newport, RI in the early 2000s. The two were married in 2006. They moved from Massachusetts to Arizona in 2016 to further pursue their careers in the moving and storage industry but mostly to get away from cold and snow. Kevin and Nicole now live in Buckeye, AZ with their three Great Danes, Moose, Kiko and Honu.

Kevin’s passion for whiskey began when he met his neighbor, retired United States Air Force Sargent Jason McGee, in 2016. His neighbor convinced him to drink less “fancy” craft beer and have a Maker’s Mark bourbon. This one drink brought Kevin back to the days of trying to come up with different flavor profiles in the food he created while attending culinary school. Kevin’s whiskey collection grew slowly at first but has grown substantially since he enrolled in Whiskey University’s “Train-the-Trainers” program in July of 2022.

Kevin says that “Whiskey University not only takes you through the different types of whiskey, its production and how to find different flavor profiles but it tells the story, all be it a sometimes-checkered story, of whiskey and how it has impacted civilizations across the globe”. His wife Nicole claims that Whiskey University not only reignited Kevin’s passion for food and drink, but it is also responsible for the newest addition to their home. In March of 2024, Kevin converted the den of home into a speakeasy themed sitting room after she told him he needed a better place to house his bottle collection other than the floor of the den. They both love sitting in their new themed room with family, friends, and of course their Danes, while sipping on fine whiskeys, creating new cocktails, sharing stories, and making memories.

Kevin has earned several degrees at Whiskey University with his most recent Master of Arts Degree with a double major in the Bluegrass Region and the Bourbon Capital Region by completing his 54th course on February 15th of 2024, which allowed his current title of “Chartered Master Whiskey Taster” and the rank of Lt. Colonel in the Bourbon Brigade.
