Lt. Colonel Corbett Brown

Corbett Brown joined Whiskey University in March 2023. In 2016 Whiskey University began offering Certificates, Diplomas, and Degrees. Brown earned his Bourbon Diploma on May 31st, 2023.

Corbett is currently retired after 42 years as a telecommunications network engineer. In addition to work, he has been very active in his community serving on numerous nonprofit and for-profit boards. Corbett is married and lives in Sun City Center, FL with his wife of 47 years. Together, they have two grown sons and two grandchildren. Corbett earned his Associates Degree and the title of Certified Bourbon Taster after 19 classes on August 10th, 2023. On October 24th, 2022 Corbett earned his Bachelor of Science Degree with 29 classes at Whiskey University earning him the title of “Master Bourbon Taster”.

Corbett was born and raised in Joplin, Missouri. He graduated from the University of Missouri - Rolla with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Corbett was introduced to the virtues and history of whiskey while pursuing his college degrees. It wasn’t until later in life that he came to appreciate the rich tradition and craftsmanship that goes into each bottle. While partial to craft distilled bourbons and ryes today, Corbett continues to explore the category and enjoys sampling new creations.

On December 10th , 2023 He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree with 38 classes earning him the title of “Master Whiskey Taster” and the rank of Captain in the Bourbon Brigade. On March 6th Corbett earned his Master of Science degree with 48 classes earning him the title of “Chartered Master Bourbon Taster” and the rank of Major in the Bourbon Brigade. On April 17 Corbett earned his Master of Arts degree with 57 classes earning him the title of “Chartered Master Whiskey Taster” and the rank of Lt. Colonel in the Bourbon Brigade.
