1st Lt. Elsa Murillo

Email address: Elsa@WhiskeyUniv.com

Elsa Murillo joined the Whiskey University in January of 2022 after her move to Georgia from Texas. Shortly after relocating, she began working on her Bourbon Diploma which she earned after eight classes on March 8th 2022.

Elsa has a background of 20+ years within Corporate Credit Risk Management. Born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon in Mexico and raised in the surrounding areas of Houston, Texas. Elsa has continued to absorb the Latin culture, enriching her fluency to speak Spanish. Now residing North of Atlanta in Roswell, Georgia, she continues to see her family and friends in Houston and offers classes within the surrounding areas when visiting.

After savoring her first smoked old fashioned created with a special pecan syrup recipe made in San Antonio, Texas in 2018, began her quest where she became completely captivated with learning about whiskey and bourbon, a journey that continues to capture her attention like no other spirit. From its history, down to its distillation, Elsa has truly made it an adventure visiting various distilleries throughout Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas.

Elsa is always thrilled to introduce and share the traditional whiskey “hug” with people. While she enjoys her vast collections of whiskeys, she relishes in higher proof and double oaked pours. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends complimented by her cigars. She absolutely loves to attend and participate in whiskey events within the community, always adding to her knowledge while enjoying fellowship time.

Elsa earned her Associate of Science Degree and the title of “Certified Bourbon Taster” after 16 classes on May 18th 2022 and continues her education. Elsa is also a “Certified Bourbon Steward” with the Stave and Thief Society and is a member of the following organizations.
